Acyrlic Blocks Aren’t Just for Stamping Anymore!!!

What are you going to do with those old Acrylic Blocks…now that Stampin' Up! has come out with the Cadillac of all blocks????  Look no further!!!  This idea came to me from one of my wonderful Downline – Doris.  She had some super ideas….embellish them with our Rub-Ons, wrap the edge with ribbon and tie a big bow on the top…the skies the limit!

What a fabulous and rich looking gift for anyone….not having any "old" acrylic blocks (I know – I live in a cave!) I think I'll order some extra Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks and make some wonderful gifts!

OK – so after I typed this all up…and had a different picture that Doris sent me…I said WHOA!  I have a stack of the NEW Stampin' Up! blocks right at my finger tips…I have a ton of wallet size photos left over from the Christmas cards that I never got to…and WAAA LAAA!!!!!

Look what I made????  How stinkin' cute it that???  Took me about 10 minutes!  I think I'll give this to my hubby for Valentine's Day!!!  WHEW – I'm ahead of the game for once!!!

I used the Planter Box Rub On's on page 177 of the Big Idea Book & Catalog.  You get 2 sheets - one in Chocolate Chip and one in White.  I also used the 3/4" Real Red Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (#115608) around the edge and tied it in a knot. My photo is printed in a wallet size and Sepia is the color I chose.  I used transparent tape – you know – that shiny tape that you wrap presents with.

TIP:  Make sure when you're using ribbon on gifts – you cut the end off and then take a lighter and get the flame close to the ribbon edge, but not touching it, to seal the edge.  This will prevent any fraying and keep your gift looking fresh!
