Layering Stencils Technique

Welcome to the March TOTALLY TECHNIQUES BLOG HOP! We are featuring a LAYERING STENCILS TECHNIQUE this month. I chose the PETALS OF BEAUTY and WORDS OF BEAUTY bundle to create some very pretty cards! You’ll find a video tutorial here:

It’s always fun to think outside the box when it opens up a whole new opportunity! Looking at your dies a little differently and thinking about which ones would make a great stencil definitely opens up LOTS of opportunities. I pulled out my PETALS OF BEAUTY bundle and thought the large leaf die was perfect for this technique challenge. I die cut it on printer weight paper and used it with a BLENDING BRUSH to stencil leaves on my card front.

  1. That is very pretty DSP and I like this technique of using dies as stencils. I will definitely have to try this. Thank you Kelly.

  2. This is a beautiful card using that beautiful DSP. The inside looks lovely. The handmade stencil is great. Because those particular leaves can be used on so many cards, I would use acetate to make the stencil. It would be more durable and less prone to lift. Thanks for the inspiration.
