I have a NEW Assistant!

Blog1

I decided I needed to make some baby cards for my stash and used a couple unlikely stamp sets – I say that because neither one of them is designed for baby cards. That's what I love about  sets that have a lot of versatility – right?

I chose the LOVE YOU LOTS exclusive hostess set that you can get when you host a party or place an order over $150. You get Stampin' Rewards for those bigger orders and you can use that to get any of our exclusive hostess sets!

The other set I decided to use was the BALLOON ADVENTURES BUNDLE – you've seen some of the cards I've made with that recently…and if not, here are a few links to previous creations:

HOLY COW! I didn't know I shared so many great projects made with the BALLOON ADVENTURES BUNDLE! It really is a great set to have.

I made one for a boy and one for a girl and then as long as I was designing cards I decided that this one would be a great swap card and set out to cut and stamp many!

Here's a funny story – my hubby has been off work since November. So since he's home I thought it would be great if he could help me with my stamping….I know right??? So I cut and stamped everything – I figured he could handle the rest…bahhhahahaaaa!!! He did GREAT with the Big Shot and the FALLING PETALS EMBOSSING FOLDER. But when I came back in the kitchen to find him TRYING to cut out my elephants with an exacto knife I knew that I had thrown too much at him. I said "whoa whoa whoa! You can't cut those out like that – I can't use those elephants." I really wish I would have saved them to show you…but I tossed them in the trash. Let's just say they were not good…ok they were HORRIBLE! He was spittin' and sputterin' that his big hands can't fit in those tiny little scissors! And how I "shouldn't have thrown so much at him at once – he's new at all this ya know!" Giggle Giggle – and he was right. I don't know what I was thinking…but I know he's a smart man and I just figured he could cut some stuff out and put it together right? He did do great at the balloon strings and the Dimensionals, but the assembly was not so great…read on…

Glue….who knew that a guy could make such a mess with glue? So a couple more cards went in the trash due to too much glue under the layer making it bubble up like you glued a worm under there – LOL! Or glue smooshing out the sides of the layer and then wiped off…but you know that never works. It was an eye opener and it sounds like I was really mean, but believe me when I say that I have A LOT of patience and sugar coated everything I told him he needed to change. Who else's hubby is going to help when you're mean about it – right?

So once we got that all cleared up and I cut out all the elephants, we were back in business! He did a great job and I know that at the very minimum – I have a BIG SHOT OPERATOR!

The banner that runs across the bottom is part of the Thinlit in this bundle – I just cut the balloon strings off of it and added the images to the front – cool right?

  1. Please don’t take offense, but with Hailey’s hair, your hubby looks kind of like the “Hey Chick” stamp. You know which one I mean, right. LOL!
On a serious note, my hubby has been out of commission since Dec 5 with a bad back. Just started back to work this week. If it’s Steve’s back I highly recommend Dr Wascher at NeuroSpine. My hubby had surgery and is 100% better. No need to share problems, Just wanted to share ours just in case it was the same issue. Have a great day. Love your site, I check it out every day.
One more thing if you don’t mind. I mostly case my cards. When you make a card to you start out with the stamp set or the layout? Thanks. K8
