Bows & Arrows – OH MY!

Happy Labor Day!  I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend….I sure did!  We headed up north to spend the weekend with family and friends and had a BLAST!

Here are some photos that might scare you or just make you laugh!

Did you know that I am a bow hunter?  LOVE IT!

The annual Bow Shoot is hosted by my friend and downline, Cindy Ehlers and her hubby Jim.  They put on quite an event with a very competitive target range, lots of laughing and some fantastic food!

Now – here's a pile of money!  When you live in Wisconsin, sometimes your hunting equipment costs more than the value of your vehicle – LOL!

Here's some of the targets we were aiming for.  I hit everyone of them – although I did not win a single competition!

Here's a powerful pair – LOL!  That's me with my hubby…

And a little GIRL POWER!  That's my MOM on the left – yep – she's a bow hunter too!

And the food was to DIE FOR!  Our master chef, Jim, made the meat in the crockpot – venison marinated in olive oil, wrapped in bacon and grilled – OMGosh - it was over the top!

My big brother Jeff was the GRAND prize winner – he's in charge of the traveling trophy…until next year!

Here's our fabulous hosts, Jim & Cindy – Jim was a winner too!

If all that was amusing enough…here's where the really funny part starts…if you look in the background of this photo – I was back there making all kinds of funny faces and gestures…my hubby said this is called "photo bomb" and there's actually a website that features pictures with people in the background doing stupid stuff like this!  Who knew?  This is my sister and Jim.

Here's a close up of the photo above – below – I thought Cindy was gonna pee her pants!

We can't leave out my sister-in-law, Barbie…she's practicing for the lead back-up singer in Kid Rock's band!

In Wisconsin – a family that hunts together, stays together!

  1. Hi Kelly,
You guys are already “up north” (in perspective to Milwaukee – ha ha) how much farther did you go?
Wasn’t it a great weekend? We were up in the Bonduel/Antigo area on Sunday and the weather was gorgeous!
My husband would die if he saw these pictures…”if she can stamp AND hunt, why can’t you?” I can just hear it now.
Glad you had a great weekend.

  2. Loved this post since my family is into hunting (and fishing)! Our 3 year old granddaughter has been begging to go bow hunting with her Daddy so she finally gets to go this week. First thing she will have to learn is to be quiet in the woods as she is always singing. 🙂 Can’t wait to hear the stories. LOL Looks like you had a fun time!! Blessings!
