Here's a super fun way to make a card and gift all in one!!! This card has a detachable bookmark just in time for Mother's Day!!! It's one of the cards that my stampers have enjoyed all month! Come to the May 2nd card buffet and make one of your own!
I think the Mother's Love stamp set is good for more than just Mother's Day cards…it would be fabulous for cards for all the MOM's in my life any time of the year…and an amazing addition to scrapbook pages. I just love the font on the word greetings!!!
Supplies:
- Stamps: Mother’s Love (138838w, 138841c or 137170p), Teeny Tiny Wishes (128748w or 127802c), Dictionary Background (130348w or 130351c)
- Paper : 100730 Whisper White cardstock (5-1/8” x 3-7/8” front, 5-1/4” x 4” inside & 2” x 4-3/4” bookmark), 121045 Basic Black cardstock (4” x 5-1/4”), 131295 Strawberry Slush cardstock (5-1/2” x 10-11/16”)
- Ink : 132708 Memento Black, 131178 Strawberry Slush, 131179 Smokey Slate
- Other : 129407 Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Addition, 132788 Perforating Stampin’ Trimmer Rotary Cutting Blade, 119246 Rhinestone Basic Jewels, 133324 Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, 135637 Strawberry Slush Thick Baker’s Twine, 134576 Basic Black Baker’s Twine; 131260 In Color Markers, 110755 Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Instructions:
- Score the Strawberry card base at 4-1/4” and then at 8-1/2” with the Perforating Blade.
- Insert the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch into the top middle of the card base and slide it down until the inside edge come to the perforated score line and punch.
- Punch the top of the 2” x 4-3/4” Whisper White layer with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch
- Stamp 5-1/8” x 3-7/8” & 2” x 4-3/4” Whisper White layers with the Dictionary background stamp in Smokey Slate ink
- Stamp words in black in on front layer and bookmark layer
- Stamp outline flower/stem with black ink on front layer
- Use Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding markers on solid flower/stem image to add color to outline image
- Stamp solid flower images in Strawberry Slush ink on card front, bookmark and inside layer where shown
- Stamp flower outline with black ink over all solid flowers
- Stamp Happy Mother’s Day on the inside layer
- Adhere all layers to card base – sliding the bookmark layer down a little – make sure to leave a little bit of the opening so you and insert the Baker’s Twine
- Add Rhinestone to front layer flower
- Cut Strawberry Slush Thick Baker’s Twine and Black Baker’s Twine at 5-1/2” – insert through hole on bookmark
