Double Embossing Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to the February TOTALLY TECHNIQUES BLOG HOP! We are featuring a DOUBLE EMBOSSING TECHNIQUE this month. I chose the PARADISE GARDEN bundle with the PEACEFUL VIEW BACKGROUND stamp and the STAMPIN’ POSITIONER to create some very pretty cards! You’ll find a video tutorial here:

This is a great project to utilize the Stampin’ Positioner. Sometimes background stamps can be a little tricky. They’re big and cumbersome – a little hard to hold. You should always set you stamp on your desktop with the stamp side up, ink and then add your cardstock to it. But getting even coverage can be trying. Using this amazing tool to get a perfect image every time makes me pull out those big background stamps more often.

The outline around the leaves on the Lost Lagoon layer was certainly a surprise! I didn’t realize that there was a raised link around each leaf image – that is what caught the Versamark Ink and then white embossing powder.

Dimensions:

• Pretty Peacock – 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″
• Basic White – 4″ x 5 1/4″ (inside), 3 1/4″ x 4 13/16″, 2nd largest circle (Stylish Shapes Dies)
• Lost Lagoon – 3 1/8″ x 4 3/4″

Peaceful View is one of those sets that can be used for so many occasions. I chose a THANK YOU as my theme. But I think it would work great for Get Well and Sympathy and Just A Note too.

The Paradise Garden Hybrid Embossing Folder creates a pronounced background for any card – love the soft “puff” of the leaves.
