Faux Washi Tape Technique

Here's a fun card my customers enjoyed recently…the technique is called Faux Washi Tape!

Here's how you do it –

  • take a piece of typing weight paper and cut little strips out of it with your paper cutter
  • tear the ends on each strip
  • use the typing weight paper as a template and lay it on your cardstock to stamp small images in
  • while keeping the template in place – sponge color over your stamped images
  • waaaa laaaa – super cool!

I loved using this technique to make Faux Washi tape in the colors I wanted for my card.  Super easy!

The stamps I used in my washi tape are from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (Wood 130514 – Clear 130517) Here's a close up of the technique:
