It's still Wednesday and I thought I would update you a little bit. I just can't seem to get much blogging done – but I promise I will be back!
Steve update: Thank you all for your well wishes, thoughts and prayers! Tuesday was a really rough day – like I almost ran from the house screaming and crying…not a joke. After an equipment malfunction and the realization that his trache tube can pop out when I'm changing the band (and almost did) – I was a basket case. This is so out of my element of comfort…I can't even tell you. I MAKE CARDS – that's what I do!!! LOL!!!! People ask me from time to time what I'm "NOT good at"…and I always tell them bowling…now I will add nursing to that list too!
So I'm at Walmart buying a bag of dog food for my dog. While in the check-out line, a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. Why else would I be buying dog food, RIGHT??? So on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again, and that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in intensive care with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.
I told her that it was essentially a Perfect Diet and all you do is load your pockets with Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.)
Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff a poodle's butt and a car hit me. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard. Better watch what you ask me and be prepared for my answer. I have all the time in the world to think of crazy things to say. Now that you've read this I have to confess, I copied it, now copy and share, make someone else laugh!

OMG! It’s jokes like that that help to keep you sane! Fabulous!! Good to hear Hubby is on the mend hope it is a clear track now.
Sue
I hope you had a laugh with the joke Kelly. Good news on Steve in that he is home and he is surviving. You seem to have been let down with lack of hospital information – sometimes I think professionals forget that us “simpletons” dont realise what is ok and what isnt. Steve will be appreciating all you do. Just remember that each day is one step closer to his full recovery.
Sending you hugs Robyn
