More Skating!

I was fortunate enough to attend the Stampin' Up! Milwaukee Regional over the weekend…what a BLAST we had!  It started off for some of us on Friday night at a shoebox swap – organized by Laurie Zoellmer of Minnesota – she's in Dawn' Olchefske's group.  Big thank you to Laurie and Jan (she helped)!!!  We had soooo much fun!  The cards we made were amazing!  Here's my shoebox swap….a little different than the rollerskate I posted last week.  I used the Mixed Bunch and Bring on the Cake stamp sets with  different colors.  If you'd like to see the other rollerskate – click HERE.

The skate above was my proto-type…then I changed up the colors and made the card below.

Just take a piece of 11 x 5-1/2 Whisper White cardstock that's folded in half.  Place it on the Stocking Die so the folded edge is just down from the top cut of the die.  This makes the top fold for your card.

I popped up the Pool Party circle with a Dimenional.  I used Regal Rose, Pool Party & Basic Black ink with Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party & Regal Rose markers.

My wheels are made with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch and 1/2" Circle Punch – I used the Mixed Bunch stamp with black in for the center flowers….pop some brads in there and you've got a GREAT wheel!

I made this template below for my customers coming to the Punch Class on Wed morning and Friday night.  You can get more details on this class HERE.  This will make it super simple for them to punch the lace holes and lace up their skates.  A large darning needle makes lacing simple – start at the top hole, inserting your needle from the front – leave about 4-1/2" (measured on the template) of baker's twine so you can tie the bow when the lacing is done.  Everyone at the shoebox swap was surprised at how easy this card was!!!

  1. I love these skates!! Too cute. I lived on roller and ice skates when I was a kid. Once a week the bus from the skating rink would pick us up and we’d have hours of fun. By the next week, we’d be pretty well recoved from our spills. lol Wonder if kids still do this? Really wishing I had this die now.
