I promised I'd show you how to color your Glimmer paper….
1. I put some reinker (Indigo Island) in a brad lid – you want to use a VERY dark color for this technique.
2. I sprayed my reinker with a couple squirts of rubbing alcohol. I used rubbing alcohol because I'd heard from other demonstrators that there was a problem with this technique drying…and alcohol has drying agents. You can try water if you want…I have a spritzer bottle of alcohol in my stamping dungeon, so it was convenient.
3. Use the large Aqua Painter to color your silver glimmer paper – I squeezed my Aqua Painter a little bit while I was painting with it too.
4. Paint the entire piece (mine is 3" x 3").
5. I used a heat tool to dry the paint. You can see how light it gets when you dry it.
Here's a view of the original Silver Glimmer paper and the painted piece. It's soooo pretty!!!
And a close up of my card…
The dimensions for this gift card holder are 4-1/4" x 11". Score at 2-3/4, 3-1/4, 3-3/4 & 7-3/8. I use Mini Glue Dots to attach the gift card inside.
Here are some of the products I used for this project:
