Welcome to the TOTALLY TECHNIQUES blog hop for July! We are featuring a SPOTLIGHTING TECHNIQUE today – whoo hoo! One of my favorites because it’s easy and packs a big WOW factor. You’ll find a video tutorial showing you how to use this technique in two different ways here:
This spotlight is very small and perfect if you’d rather not color big images. It’s a great way to take advantage of large line art stamps by coloring just a little bit! I love the STIPPLED ROSES stamp set. There is a matching set of dies – but I didn’t use them for my cards today. My sentiment label is from NESTED ESSENTIALS DIES – one of my favorite label die sets.
Dimensions:
- Basic White Thick — 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″
- Basic Black — 4″ x 5 1/4″, 3 1/8″ x 4 5/8″
- Lemon Lolly — 3 7/8″ x 5 1/2″ & scrap
- Basic White — 3″ x 4 1/2″
Along with the Lemon Lolly card I made one with Fresh Freesia. Which one makes you happier?
This spotlight technique is much bigger. I used Petunia Pop for the card base and Stampin’ Blend Mark along with Granny Apple Green.
While I was designing and getting all my eggs in a row – I made cards in Peach Pie, Bubble Bath and Daffodil Delight. I love the Brushed Brass Butterflies – they are the perfect amount of bling and they are VERY FLAT.
