SUMMER has officially arrived at the Acheson house!!! Today was a super busy day…well for some of us…well for my hubby! LOL! I'm having a hard time getting my MOJO going afer coming back from vacation…urgh! But anywho…the cover came off "MY" pool last weekend…and then hubby was out of town all week for work…urgh! Yesterday he started on the mess – when the tornados and "straight-line" winds came through a few weeks ago – all the straps on our pool cover popped and it picked up and let the wind suck tons of leaves and pine needles into "MY" pool. What a mess! He vacuumed and scooped and I headed for the pool store. Dumped a case of chlorine in and a "magic" bottle of algecide – gets rid of the green. Yesterday there were piles of black junk (leaves) in the bottom and the water had a green tinge. This morning when I walked out the back door it was GORGEOUS!!! He got up at 4 am (CRAZY – I know!) and vacummed and scooped for 3 hours (this might sound like I got up at 7 am…nooooooo!). The pool was a beautiful blue….it was amazing! So I made breakfast for my HERO and my daughter…who was also out there yesterday vacuuming. Then I went grocery shopping (ouch) and searching for hanging flower pots to bring my backyard to life. No luck on the flowers….got lots of food. I got all the patio furniture out of the shed, found the cushions and set up our summer retreat. I can hardly wait to show you photos of tomorrow….because we texted all the kids, some friends and we're having a "Pool Opening Party/Cookout" tomorrow!!!! Which means I need to get my butt in gear and get my stamping work done tonight! And go to the grocery store again tomorrow…I knew I should've picked out the party pack of brats instead of the single family one! DANG!
So I wanted to share this card with you…because it screams SUMMER! We made this at the May Stamp Camp – it was one of 16 cards! The Sunny Fun stamp set in the Summer Mini catalog is soooo fun fun!
I love the "Flower Fusion" die on this card….and the way the flower petals stick up just a little. Once the layers were glued in place, I pulled the petals up just a little bit.
Since I don't have any pool photos to share with you today…I ran across this photo. I really wish Kyle & Rudy would try to relax a little!
