Here's a poem that really made me smile…it's soooooooo true! I never in a million years thought that I could pay my bills, take my family on fabulous trips, get to travel several times a year to rub elbows with the best in the business and learn exciting new stamping tips and techniques – all while doing what I love…but this poem says it all:
IF I’M DREAMING — DON’T WAKE ME!
Once upon a time, an ambitious woman entered a successful store with a reputation for high quality craft supplies. She walked up to the owner and said “Sir, I’m very impressed with your establishment. I’d like to come on board and build a career here. I can promise you I’ll work hard and I’ll do a great job. In return, all I ask for is the following:
- First, I’d like 20-40% profit on everything I sell. And the same discount for products for my own personal use.
- I expect free training, product knowledge, company and personal support to give me the confidence to grow from where I am, to be the best I can be.
- Then, if I bring in new sales people, I think I deserve 1-6% of everything they sell.
