This has to be my ALL-TIME FAVORITE stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog – French Foliage. Fall is such a colorful and gorgeous time of year in Wisconsin…it's also hunting season!!! So I get to spend alot of time out enjoying nature.
I used the exact some layout and colors for the Soot Stamping Technique last month. This is also a GREAT card for the Joseph's Coat Technique.
I started with a 2 x 5 1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock and tore the bottom off. Then I sponged on Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and More Mustard ink.
You want to make sure the sponged layer is dry before you go to the next step. I used my Heat Tool to speed that process up. I then stamped the leaf images with VersaMark ink and clear embossed them.
Now I know this seems INSANE….but you're going to brayer over the entire piece with Basic Black ink and it's gonna look like a big mess – like you ruined the whole THANG!
Set that piece aside and let it dry a little bit before you take a tissue and wipe the excess ink off the embossed images like this:
TA DA! Here's the finished card! I stamped the leaves on the Crumb Cake base with Crumb Cake ink and the greeting with Cherry Cobbler (one of my NEW FAV's) before I ran it through my Big Shot in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
This card is one of the fabulous creations my Technique Tuesday class will enjoy making. For the "Technique" card they will get the instruction sheet below and actually make a "mini" Joseph's Coat technique layer to keep for their stampin' technique library!

Very pretty and interesting. I’ll have to try this technique. I really like the one sheet instruction page that you did. This technique will be a lot safer than using a cande to soot up a card!
