Telescoping Technique

Welcome to the TOTALLY TECHNIQUES blog hop for August! We are featuring a TELESCOPING TECHNIQUE today – whoo hoo! This is brand new to me – my first time! You’ll find a video tutorial showing you how to use this technique here:

I am featuring the brand new SPLENDID AUTUMN SUITE COLLECTION to make some fabulous cards with the TELESCOPING TECHNIQUE! This beauty is coming out on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 in the Sept-Dec Mini Catalog – WHOO HOO!!!

Here’s my first card. You need a set of nesting dies – I used the NESTED ESSENTIALS DIES – they were perfect!

It’s hard to see in the photo above – check out this little WOVEN GOLDEN LEAF (#164059) under the Crushed Curry tiny leaves on my card front. Below is what they look like – they are beautiful:

Here’s a close up – isn’t this cool?

Dimensions:

• Cajun Craze — 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″, scrap
• Crushed Curry — 4″ x 5 `1/4″, scrap
• Splendid Autumn 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper — 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″, 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
• Scraps — Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler
• Basic White — 4″ x 5 1/4″

And then I had to make a couple more cards using the TELESCOPING TECHNIQUE and the SPLENDID AUTUMN DSP – because…well…FABULOUS!

This card uses the sunflower pattern and the weird shapes (don’t know what they are called) from the NESTED ESSENTIALS DIES.

Dimensions:

• Lemon Lolly — 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″, 3/8″ strip
• Early Espresso — 4″ x 5 1/4″
• Splendid Autumn 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper — 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″

And my third card is so soft and pretty. This paper – OH MY GOSH right?

Dimensions:

• Fresh Freesia — 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
• Basic Black — 4″ x 5 1/4″
• Splendid Autumn 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper — 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
• Mossy Meadow — scrap
