FEELS LIKE HOME - free with a $50 order! Video tutorial - Torn Edges - www.AStampAbove.com

Welcome to the TOTALLY TECHNIQUES BLOG HOP for September! Today we are featuring TORN EDGES! There are so many different ways to design cards with torn edges and I love that this OLD style is coming back around!

I love the way this card turned out! I found the layout on line with a different stamp set and designer series paper and decided to give it a try with the FEELS LIKE HOME stamp set. This set is one of our FREE offering during the Sale-a-Bration promotion that ends 9.30.21. When you place a $50 or more order with me you'll get to choose from a whole bunch of FREE items – SO FUN! You'll find the dimensions and colors of cardstock I chose to use below this photo.

Dimensions:

  • Basic White 2 1/2" x 4" & 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Coastal Cabana 4 1/4" x 11 scored at 5 1/2" & 2 3/4" x 4"
  • Cork Specialty Paper 1" x 4"
  • In Good Taste Designer Series Paper 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Gray Granite scrap

I kept the inside simple with a potted plant stamped with Gray Granite.

You can see the splatter on the layer below the DIAMOND WEAVE RIBBON on this photo. I used a Gray Granite Stampin' Write Marker to splatter.

I think the CORK SPECIALTY PAPER really makes a bold statetment on the torn edges. And I love the texture my element of DIAMOND WEAVE RIBBON contributes to the charm of this card. I used two pieces of the LINEN THREAD to tie my bow for a little extra pop.

  1. Wow! Your card is beautiful, almost like a collage. The other cards are amazing as well. I will have to give this technique a try.
Thank you all for sharing your talent!

  2. I watched your “Facebook” session this AM…….while introducing your Mom you mentioned that you lived in Belton, MO. I did too!!! My husband was Air Force & we were stationed at Richards-Gebaur AFB there. I think the base has been de-commissioned since. But, anyway, I loved shopping at the TG&Y store & they had the best little steak house with Kansas City Strip steaks that were so delicious…….I can’t think of the name of it. It was just a little “divey” type place but soooooo good. We were there from 1966-70.
Your cards were really neat……..I liked the collage type cards……..great masculine cards. Almost everyone has trouble thinking of a design for them. Great Ideas……going to copy them for sure!
