Thanks for stopping by…

Maybe a strong magnet placed there and then turning the Big Shot over to shake may attract it to the magnet. Just a thought….
My husband took mine apart for me because it had some other problem ( which I can’t even remember now) , and he was able not only to get it back together- he actually fixed it! So don’t give up- and maybe get some handy person to look at it!
Wow, thanks for sharing about the crack. I do sometimes slide my platform with the plate and die back through just because I get lazy and it sticks to the plate. I never knew about the crack and I never looked. I wont be doing that anymore.
Kelly..is your lost bottle cap thinlets like SOX that get lost in the washer??? I will be very careful!!
So sorry to hear that you lost one of your dies, at least SU provided two in this set otherwise I think you would have been a lot sadder. Your joke though is absolutely hilarious! :O)
Oh Kelly, what a great tip and video…..whodathunk that would happen!!!! Now we are all wondering what is caught in the “crack” of our big shots?
Did you call Demo Support….even though it was caused by you, maybe they have had other calls about the same thing and can give you some ideas oh how to get it out – they are so heavy that I don’t want you to hurt yourself shaking it to see if the bottle cap flies out…..keep us posted!
Have a better week!
my hubby has also taken several big shots apart to fix them as sometimes the bearings need replacing, ect. so if you can find someone that is good taking things apart and putting them back together again, lol you’ll get your die back .
Gosh, I have taken my big shot for granted. I have had it before SU introduced it. Hate to think of what is hiding inside of it. I wont be pushing my plates back through it again. Also thanks for the joke, poor piggies, lol
Kelly, I had to take apart my Big Shot because the roller in ‘the crack’ got pushed down (too thick of a sandwich), and wouldn’t work. I was HORRIFIED when it made a HUGE ‘crack’ noise and thought I was going to have to buy another one. So I searched the internet, and found a YouTube tutorial from a fellow SU demonstrator (Tan, from Ink Responsibly) on how to take apart…AND…put back together the Big Shot. I was really nervous that I would mess something up. But…her video was perfect on how to do it, and low and behold I fixed my Big Shot. I was so proud of myself. I literally had to take it ALL the way apart, but you may only have to take a few pieces off before your little bottle cap will come out. Here is the link to her video .https://www.pinterest.com/pin/241646336239537740/
Just keep all the little parts together (and in order) as you take everything apart, and you’ll be fine. It truly wasn’t difficult to do. So give it a try. You want to make sure you have all your dies!
Good Luck!
Lani
Kelly – I had something similar happen. I had a small die which was in the table and when the magnetic platform was set I too if it, it stuck to the bottom. When the sandwich got run through the machine, it got peeled off the bottom right into the crack. It took me a few minutes to figure out what happened and when I did, I turned the big shot upside down no heard the framelit rattling around inside. I just kept shaking it until it fell out.
Now, if you are feeling more mechanically unclined, turn over your big shot. There are like four screws on the bottom. Take those out and then remove the two side pieces. You should then be able to remove the two platform pieces and get inside and retrieve the wayward bottle cap die. I may have the directions somewhere in my email. If I can find them, I will forward it.
Never paid any attention to the crack. Guess I better start, thanks for always watching out for us!
On the preventative side, I saw a tip that could help make sure this doesn’t happen as well as keeping track of those pesky tiny dies. I saw it on Dawn Griffith’s Blog. She did a video tutorial on the Barn Door Set – more little dies. Great tutorial and she included a tip about those dies. here’s a link to the page – https://dawnsstampingthoughts.net/2018/01/barn-door-card-video.html
Kelly I am so sorry that your Big Shot ate your bottle cap! LOL sounds funny I know.. but I know it’s not. I’m sorry… I just had to find the humor in it! Your card and calendar easel are gorgeous! Where did you get those adorable calendars so small? Did you print them yourself?
Hugs,
Jo
